Terms of Service & End-User License Agreement

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, compiling, or using AA Anything (hereinafter referred to as the "Software" or "Application"), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement ("Agreement"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not install, access, or use the Software.

3. Educational, Experimental, and Interoperability Purposes

The Software is developed and provided strictly for educational, experimental, research, and personal device interoperability purposes. The Software provides client-side tooling that permits users to unpack, adjust Android display parameters, and re-sign Android packages (.apk) residing locally on their own devices.

4. Prohibition of Sharing and Redistribution of Patched APKs

1. NO REDISTRIBUTION OF MODIFIED PACKAGES: Users are strictly prohibited from distributing, publishing, transmitting, hosting, selling, licensing, or sharing any .apk file modified, generated, or patched by the Software to any third party or public service (including online file hosts, social networks, app repositories, or forums).
2. LOCAL DEVICE LIMITATION: Patched packages are cryptographically signed with keys unique to the local installation environment. They are engineered and licensed strictly for personal, private execution on the user's individual device.
3. RESPECT THIRD-PARTY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: You acknowledge and agree that patching third-party applications does not grant you intellectual property rights, trademarks, or copyrights belonging to the original app developers or copyright holders. You remain solely responsible for complying with all applicable licenses, terms of service, and end-user agreements of the original applications you choose to modify.

5. Subscription, Licensing, Geographic Restrictions, and Refund Policy

1. Standard Compatibility Tier (Free): Certain compatibility features (including verified core packages such as media players with free compatibility profiles like VLC) are provided free of charge for personal non-commercial testing and use.
2. Mandatory Pre-Subscription Hardware Verification: Before subscribing to the Pro tier or purchasing any license, you MUST verify that free-tier applications (such as VLC) successfully project and function on your specific vehicle display unit (head unit). If free compatibility apps fail to project or operate on your vehicle hardware, the Pro tier will not function properly.
3. Application Incompatibility and Signature Protections: You acknowledge and understand that due to Android OS platform security policies, proprietary DRM, integrity checks (e.g. Play Integrity), signature verifications, and architectural constraints, not all applications can be patched or projected. The author makes no representation or warranty that any specific third-party application can be projected onto a vehicle display.
4. Self-Service Subscription Cancellation and Plan Management via Stripe: Users may self-manage, modify, or cancel their ongoing subscriptions at any time directly through the secure Stripe Customer Portal linked within the Application (accessible via "Manage Subscription" or "Sign In / Customer Portal"). Cancellations take effect at the conclusion of the current billing cycle, and no further recurring charges will be incurred once cancelled.
5. Immediate Performance, Waiver of Withdrawal Right, and Discretionary Refund Policy: You expressly agree that access to the software and digital license begins immediately upon transaction confirmation. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you acknowledge and agree that you waive any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period once performance has begun. Due to the digital nature of the software and immediate license activation, all subscription sales are generally final. However, if you experience insurmountable technical incompatibilities after performing due diligence, you may submit an inquiry via the official contact form available on kododake.com or the official GitHub repository. Refund requests are strictly evaluated on an individual basis and may be refused if legitimate substantiated reasons are lacking, or at the author's sole discretion (there is a possibility of discretionary refund, but strictly no legal entitlement or guarantee). If a refund is processed, the associated account and license features will be permanently locked, and subsequent refunds are strictly disallowed.
6. Geographic Restriction (Service Exclusion for Residents of Japan): Paid subscriptions and commercial licenses are provided exclusively for users residing outside of Japan. The Software does not offer or solicit paid commercial transactions to residents of Japan.
7. Pricing, Specifications, and Service Adjustments: The author expressly reserves the right to modify, adjust, update, or revise subscription pricing, billing cycles, application specifications, supported capabilities, license verification infrastructure, or update mechanisms at any time with or without prior notice. Price revisions for ongoing subscriptions will take effect in subsequent billing periods in accordance with payment processor policies.

6. System Updates, In-Place Upgrades, and App Data

1. Android OS Updates: Operating system and monthly security updates on the host Android device may affect display projection compatibility. When this occurs, applications can typically be re-patched in-place using AA Anything without data loss.
2. Preservation of AA Anything: In-place app updating relies on signing configurations stored within the AA Anything application storage. Uninstalling AA Anything may invalidate these keys, preventing seamless in-place updates.
3. No Guarantee of Data Integrity: While AA Anything is designed to support in-place upgrades that preserve application configurations and user login sessions, you are solely responsible for maintaining adequate backups of your application data. The author is not liable for data loss resulting from application re-patching or uninstallation.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties ("AS IS")

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE AUTHOR AND CONTRIBUTORS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND CONTINUED COMPATIBILITY WITH FUTURE ANDROID AUTO OR ANDROID OS RELEASES.

8. Limitation of Liability

EXCEPT IN CASES OF INTENTIONAL MISCONDUCT OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE AUTHOR (OR AS OTHERWISE MANDATED BY MANDATORY PROVISIONS OF APPLICABLE CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS), IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, DEVICE MALFUNCTION, SYSTEM CRASHES, GOOGLE ACCOUNT ACTION, OR ANY SPECIAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE). TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE AUTHOR FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SOFTWARE SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) THIRTY US DOLLARS (USD $30.00).

9. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, Severability, and Amendments

1. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be construed and governed in accordance with the laws of Japan, excluding its conflicts of law rules.
2. Exclusive Jurisdiction: Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement, the Software, or related services shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having territorial jurisdiction over the author's domicile (or the summary court having corresponding jurisdiction where applicable) as the court of first instance.
3. Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, such provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
4. Amendments: The author reserves the right to revise or update these Terms of Service at any time by updating the documentation repository and official website. Continued use of the Software following any such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
